Shop Local – July is Independents Month

Independents Month 2019

We all have an important role to play in creating a community that is vibrant and an economy that is healthy. The smallest decisions we make on a daily basis have the most powerful impacts on this community. When it comes to the businesses we support there are many ways to be a localist, but the best way to begin doing so is with your commitment to always Think Local First.

Think Local First puts what matters the most first. This means it’s easy to find what you need locally and celebrate your community at the same time. Choosing local first will not only support our community but it will allow more of your money to remain in our community which will build a healthier economy that works for everyone.

During the month of July, Independents Month, our community actively celebrates local, independent businesses. This event runs from July 1st to the 31st and throughout it we encourage you to make the choice to support local businesses near you. By doing so not only are you supporting local jobs, but you’re also supporting the variety that keeps the Pacific Northwest interesting and fun!

This year Trove Coffee will also be participating in the Indie Month Scavenger Hunt. Local businesses will have hidden more than 75 red, navy, and light blue colored rocks throughout Whatcom & Skagit counties. You have the opportunity to play by searching for these rocks in a public park, on a hiking trail, or near your favorite hangout.

Participate in this year’s scavenger hunt to win prizes and discover new shops. If you’re lucky enough to find a Think Local First rock all you have to do is follow the instructions on the back to redeem your prize. We are very excited to be a part of this beautiful community we get to call home and we hope you are too!
